Skating for Scott Cares is personal for me.  I have too many loved ones who have faced cancer.  I was three years old when my mother was first diagnosed with Lymphoma and went through chemotherapy.  She is a two-time cancer survivor and continues to bravely fight everyday against the side effects of the tough treatments she went through.  More recently, I have watched as my grandfather is going through his second cancer diagnosis.  The bravery and strength that he displays in facing the harsh treatments is inspiring. I also have two coaches who are cancer survivors who overcame the odds and continue to inspire me every day.  This year will be my third-year fundraising for Scott Cares and participating in the Sk8 to Eilin8 Cancer 5k.  I have seen the dedication of the Scott Cares organization and know that money raised goes to help not only the research into treatments at a bigger level but also makes a great impact in our local community.  I am beyond grateful to all those who have donated in the past and for those who are willing to donate this year!  Together we are making a difference!
