Papa and I walking the halls of the hospital after his surgery in 2014! I was only a year old and a little unsteady on my feet, but we got through it!

In February, my Nana passed away from a rare side effect of the chemotherapy that she went through while she had breast cancer. She was always one of my biggest cheerleaders, in skating and in life. She and my mommy were the very first two to ever see me skate. When I was little, my Papa had also been going through cancer. Some of my earliest memories were made in the hospital where he was being treated.I learned how to walk in the hospital. I would hold onto Papa’s IV pole as he went for walks through the hospital. Whenever we visited him at the hospital I would go around and peek under the curtains to see where he was. However, thanks to innovative research like I am trying to raise money for, saved Papa’s life. This kind of research is what created the ostomy bags that make it so that Papa is still here. Once more, I really hope you will donate to this cause to help many families avoid the same kind of pain and loss that my family and many others have had to endure.
