Dear Family and Friends, my name is Claren Luk. I’m 8 years old and I love ice skating and my family. Five years ago, my grandma Josephine was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and I’ve seen how hard this journey is for both the patient and their loved ones. I’ve always wanted to help.
Two years ago, I discovered the Scott Hamilton Foundation, which supports cancer research. It is founded by Scott Hamilton, who is an Olympic ice skater and a cancer survivor whose mom also passed away from cancer.
This is my third year participating in this fundraiser. Even though my grandma passed away in July 2024, I want to continue supporting this cause in her memory and help with cancer research for others and future generations.
