My Snoopy's Home Ice Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer 2026 Fundraising Page

Violet Cabaltera
Violet is skating again this year for Scott Hamilton's Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer fundraiser — an event close to our hearts, since cancer has touched our family more than once.
In 2014, when Violet was just 10 months old, my dad was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Some of my favorite (if bittersweet) memories from that year are of her learning to walk by holding onto his IV pole as we made slow laps around the hospital halls. He's cancer-free today, though the experience left its mark on all of us.
In 2021, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and met it with her usual quiet strength. She came through treatment, and we were so grateful. But in February 2025, we lost her to a rare complication of that very treatment — a reminder that even our best tools against cancer can come at a real cost.
That's why we're asking for your support. Research into gentler, more innovative cancer treatments means more families get to keep their happy endings, not just survive the fight.
Violet will be skating with her Sun Valley Figure Skating Club teammates in the Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer® Celebration Ice Show, emceed by Scott Hamilton, at Snoopy's Home Ice in Santa Rosa, CA on November 7. You can donate through the donation page or by check, and please reach out with any questions.
Cancer touches nearly every family eventually, and we're grateful for a community that shows up for one another. Thank you for considering a gift to Violet's fundraiser!
