This is my 3rd year raising funds for this cause via the Scott Hamiliton CARES Foundation and their Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer event. In 2025 our Sun Valley Figure Skating Club members raised more than $22,000! We hope to raise even more this year!

We are all impacted by cancer in one way or another. Roughly 1 in 3 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with an invasive cancer in their lifetime. This year an estimated 2.1 million new cancer cases are projected to be diagnosed in the United States alone. Globally that number is estimated at 20 million. The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (Cancer Alliance for Research Education and Survivorship) is dedicated to funding innovative, patient-centered, targeted treatments that fight cancer while preserving quality of life.
