On November 27th, I will be participating in a Bronze League Pickup Hockey Game to benefit Sk8 to Elimin8. I will be competing against my friends and teamates to raise money for cancer research and treatment. If you aren't familiar with Sk8 to Eliminate, it is the fundraising event arm of CARES. CARES was started by Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton in 2014 with the goal to Turn Cancer Upside Down. The funds raised at these events (5K's, Figure Skating Shows, Hockey Tournaments) go to support innovative cancer research with the goal of eliminating the disease that has negatively impacted so many of our lives. In addition a portion of all revenues remain in the local community for cancer support service for those in need.

Cancer has touched us all. There is not one of us who has not lost someone to cancer. Fortunately many of us also know survivors.
