Join us for Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer® Simsbury, Connecticut
Youth Hockey Co-Ed 3v3 Jamboree
April 27, 2025, at the International Skating Center of Connecticut

Cancer knows no bounds of gender, age, or race - it impacts everyone.  In 2025, an estimated 2,041,910 new cancer cases will be diagnosed in the US alone, and 618,120 people will die.  That's more than 1 person every minute dying because of this terrible disease.

The International Skating Center of Connecticut is proud to partner with the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (CARES) to present the third annual Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer® Simsbury!  Proceeds from this event will support CARES' national cancer research and their healthcare partners at Connecticut Children's

The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation is dedicated to changing the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient. CARES is an established 501(c)3 and a national identity in the cancer community.  CARES, which stands for Cancer Alliance for Research, Education, and Survivorship, is creating a cancer network built upon strong partnerships with leading institutions, cancer support groups, and researchers to improve the quality of life and provide better outcomes for those living with cancer.

A portion of the net proceeds from this event will stay local and support our Connecticut healthcare partners, Connecticut Children's

Connecticut Children’s is a nationally recognized, 187-bed not-for-profit children’s hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation, Connecticut Children's fosters a patient- and family-centered environment with a focus on research, education, and advocacy. All of Connecticut Children’s resources are put towards supporting their mission to improve the physical and emotional health of all children.

Cancer research has long been a priority for Connecticut Children’s. From clinical trials to gene splicing, we are tackling the problem on many fronts, all made possible through donated funds that are simply not available elsewhere (96 percent of federal cancer research dollars go to adult cancer, leaving pediatric cancer to rely on philanthropy).

Connecticut Children's nationally-known researchers are pushing the boundaries for developing personalized treatment plans based on whole genome analysis of tumors. As one of 200+ international members of the National Children’s Oncology Group, Connecticut Children's has more than 100 active clinical trials open at any time.
