Join us for Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer ™ Lake Placid, New York
A Virtual Frozen 5k to Support Cancer Research
Complete your race by February 28, 2021

Cancer knows no bounds of gender, age, or race - it impacts everyone.  In 2021, it's estimated that nearly 1.9 million new people will be diagnosed with cancer and 608,570 patients will die in the United States alone because of this disease.  Despite those staggering numbers, if current trends continue, cancer research funding will decrease by 50% this year, which is why we need you to join us.  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and the Merrill Center for Oncology Travel Fund at Adirondack Health.

Here's How To Get Involved!
To keep our supporters safe, we've re-imagined our event this year.  For our Virtual Frozen 5k, all participants can complete their race independently at their convenience, on or off the ice!  You can invite your friends and family around the globe to join you!
Participate and Fundraise
1) Sign up for $25 to receive your Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ t-shirt and join our Virtual Frozen 5k.  Then fundraise to support cancer research and get special reward items along the way!
2) Grow our community and our efforts by asking your family and friends to sign up with you or donate to your page.  Post about our shared cause and invite others to join you on social media!

3) Celebrate and complete your Frozen 5k independently any time before February 28, 2021.  You can skate*, walk, run - anything you choose!  Print your race bib, track your progress on your fundraising page, and share your photos with us using #LakePlacidCARES.
*Please note, if you choose to skate your 5k, your session/admission is not included in your registration.*
Support a Participant by Donating
By donating to a Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ participant's fundraising goal, you are not only supporting them but providing crucial research funding for the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and the Merrill Center for Oncology Travel Fund at Adirondack Health.  Your donation today will help us continue to stand in the gap and advance survivorship and quality of life for cancer patients everywhere.
