Cancer knows no bounds of gender, age, or race - it impacts everyone. This year it's estimated that a little more than 1.9 million new cancer cases will be diagnosed in the US alone, and 609,360 people will die. That's more than 1 person every minute dying because of this terrible disease.
The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (CARES) is proud to present Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Lake Placid! Proceeds from this event will support CARES' national cancer research projects and the Merrill Oncology Center Travel Fund at Adirondack Health.
Here's How You Can Get Involved!
Participate and Fundraise
2) Grow our community by asking your family and friends to sign up with you or donate to your page. Post about why supporting cancer research matters to you and invite others to join you on social media!
3) Fundraise for cancer research! Every dollar you raise supports critical cancer research through CARES and our healthcare partners at Adirondack Health
3) Celebrate with Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton on the James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval at the Lake Placid Olympic Center and skate a Frozen 5k (13 laps)! More details are below.
Support a Participant by Donating
When you donate to a participant's fundraising goal, you are not only supporting them but providing crucial funding for cancer research. The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation funds cancer research across the nation and we are proud to work with our healthcare partners at Adirondack Health for the third time.
Celebrate with Us!
Anyone can attend our celebrations! All admissions and door donations will continue to support our fundraising efforts for cancer research.
