When my mom was diagnosed in 2018, it was a big shock to the family. She had a long treatment, that took 10 months. She had 2 surgeries, 4 months of chemo, and 27 radiation treatments. Currently, she takes medication that she has to stay on for another 6 years. One of the things that helps her to stay positive is focusing on helping others and sharing her story. In 2019, our family made a commitment to annual fundraisers that give to organizations who support survivors and research towards a cure for cancer.
This year, I'm combining my love of skating with an opportunity to fundraise for cancer by participating in Scott Hamilton's Sk8 to eliminate Cancer. I'm so excited to help! If you're going to be in Connecticut on April 29th, the show is going to be hosted by Scott Hamilton, and have some epic skaters including Ekaterina Gordeeva and other top talent, plus our amazing local friends. You will be very impressed!
If you can't come to the show, we would be grateful for any amount that you might be generous enough to offer. Obviously, we're passionate about fighting cancer, and we're thankful for your help.
