Join us on sample date
September 14th and 15th, 2024, at Treadwell Arena
Cancer knows no bounds of gender, age, or race - it impacts everyone. In 2024 a little more than 2 million new cancer cases will be diagnosed in the US alone and 611,720 people will die. That's more than 1 person every minute dying because of this terrible disease.
Treadwell Arena is proud to partner with the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (CARES) to present the second annual Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer® Juneau! Proceeds from this event will support CARES' national cancer research and their Juneau healthcare partners, Cancer Connection.
Here's How You Can Get Involved!
2) Grow our community by asking your family and friends to sign up with you or donate to your page. Post about why supporting cancer research matters to you and invite others to join you on social media!
3) Fundraise for cancer research! Every dollar you raise supports critical cancer research through CARES and our healthcare partners, to be announced

The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation is dedicated to changing the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient. CARES is an established 501(c)3 and a national identity in the cancer community. CARES, which stands for Cancer Alliance for Research, Education, and Survivorship, is creating a cancer network built upon strong partnerships with leading institutions, cancer support groups, and researchers to improve the quality of life and provide better outcomes for those living with cancer.
A portion of the net proceeds from this event will stay local and support our Juneau healthcare partners at Cancer Connection.
Cancer Connection is a grass-roots, nonprofit organization designed to assist people living with cancer, their families, and support systems. Cancer Connection sponsors education programs and awareness events with the intent of prevention and early detection of cancer.
Costs associated with transportation to and from treatment can be overwhelming for those diagnosed with cancer. Cancer Connection is here to help by providing information, support, resources, and limited financial grants towards the cost of expenses related to cancer care services outside your Southeast community.
Cancer Connection's travel grants cover up to $750 each year for cancer care travel-related expenses such as airfare, hotel or apt costs, taxis, transit, shuttles and on an individual basis, rental cars.
