I feel so lucky to call Dana Devendorf my “second mommy.” Dana was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2019. As many people feel helpless when a loved one is battling cancer. I was no exception. For that reason, I decided to participate in a fundraiser in Dana’s honor. Since ice skating has always been my passion, I decided to support The 2020 Florida Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer.

As you all know, the Pandemic arrived in the beginning of 2020 and, although I was very pleased with the money I raised, the fundraising celebration in March 2020 was cancelled. Excuse me, not cancelled. It was postponed. UNITL NOW!!!

And the timing could not be better!

I am turning 13 this May and I recently became a Bat Mitzvah. Part of my “Mitzvah Project” was raising money for cancer and I would like to continue my support for Sk8 2 Elimin8 Cancer in Dana’s honor.
It has been a little over 3 years since Dana’s diagnosis and I am so grateful to report that she battled cancer like a champ and is now a survivor! However, not everyone is fortunate enough to have that opportunity.

Every dollar I raise will go to this amazing cause!

Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ is the nationwide peer-to-peer fundraiser for the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (CARES). In partnership with U.S. Figure Skating as well as clubs and ice facilities, participants nationwide are signing up to make a difference. Countless individuals have been touched by cancer and it is our mission to Turn Cancer Upside Down™ together!
