Join us for Steps to Stop Cancer, a Virtual 5k in Dayton, Ohio
jointly benefiting the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and the Dayton Clinical Oncology program

Cancer knows no bounds of gender, age, or race - it impacts everyone.  In 2020, an estimated 1.8 million new people will be diagnosed with cancer and 606,520 patients will die in the United States alone because of this disease.  Despite those staggering numbers, if current trends continue, cancer research funding will decrease by 50% this year, which is why we need you to join us.  We are proud to partner together as like-minded organizations funding immunotherapy, and present this Virtual 5k as an opportunity to stay active and do good at a safe distance. Proceeds from this event will equally benefit the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and Dayton Clinical Oncology Program.

The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation is dedicated to changing the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient. CARES is an established as a 501(c)3 and a national identity in the cancer community.  CARES, which stands for Cancer Alliance for Research, Education, and Survivorship, is creating a cancer network built upon strong partnerships with leading institutions, cancer support groups, and researchers to improve the quality of life and provide better outcomes for those living with cancer.

The Dayton Clinical Oncology Program is a regional non-profit cancer research consortium serving the Miami Valley area as well as Cincinnati, Findlay, Greenville, Middletown, Troy and Youngstown, Ohio; Northern Kentucky and Eastern Indiana.

Dayton Clinical Oncology Program, in cooperation with participating area hospitals, universities and physicians, provides local access to national state-of-the-art cancer clinical trials through the National Cancer Institute and its Community Oncology Research Programs (NCORP).  Incorporated in 1983, Dayton Clinical Oncology Program became one of the initial members of the community oncology program. Today, they continue to offer NCI-funded clinical trials as well as pharmaceutical industry funded clinical trials for cancer.
