My Boston, MA Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer 2021 Fundraising Page

Grace Cai
Dear All,
My name is Grace Kelsangmetog Cai. "Kelsang Metog" is lucky flower in Tibetan. I started figure skating when I was four years old with Boston’s Skating Academy, and later joined the Skating Club of Boston in 2013. I have been a junior coach for the academy’s Therapeutic skating program for three years. Adaptive/Therapeutic Skating is a unique program providing children and adults with disabilities access to the sport of figure skating by offering them an opportunity to participate in a specialized skating experience. I have skated for nine years on Boston’s Theatre on Ice (TOI) teams, and we won numerous medals at National Theatre on Ice competitions. When I was on TOI’s Novice team, Encore, we won the 2019 International Theatre on Ice championship in Epinal, France. I got moved up to Act 1, the Junior team, in 2020. My team is scheduled to compete in an International Theater on Ice competition in 2022. I will also compete in the ladies single at the Novice level.
Throughout my skating career, I have experienced and seen many incidents and injuries which required medical attention. I have even been to the emergency room twice due to skating injuries. This motivates me to pursue a medical degree in college.
Besides figure skating, I have been doing a lot of volunteer work in the community and am a four time President's Service Volunteer Award Medal winner.
Please help me support cancer research by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise funds advanced, innovative research through the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, as well as their healthcare partners. When we come together, we can make a difference!
