I'm a HUGE Nathan Chen fan, and I'd be lying if I said that the opportunity to meet him isn't a great incentive for this fundraising effort. B-U-T, the fact that the main reason for the event is funding cancer research, just a few months after my own diagnosis of thyroid cancer, makes it hold a whole new level of importance in my heart. Whether it happens or not, I feel great knowing that this is going to help everyone who unfortunately has been, is, or will be touched by this terrible disease.
